Maybe Your Dog...
Living with a dog shouldn’t feel like constant management or stress. If you're experiencing any of these common struggles, you are not alone.
Pulls hard on leash
Turns daily neighborhood walks into a stressful tug-of-war.
Barks or lunges at dogs or people
Overwhelmed by passersby, delivery trucks, or other dogs.
Jumps all over guests
High excitement at the door that makes visitors feel chaotic.
Struggles to settle at home
Paces, whines, or demands constant stimulation and attention.
Struggles with recall
Won't reliably come when called when distractions are present.
Puppy biting & endless zoomies
Sharp teeth on skin, potty regression, and puppy chaos.
Adolescent regression
A 7-to-18-month-old who suddenly seems to have 'forgotten' everything.
Everyday routine friction
Daily habits that make life together more stressful than joyful.
Behavior is communication — not defiance.
When dogs bark, jump, pull, or panic, they aren’t trying to give you a hard time — they’re having a hard time. At Pacific North Woof, training starts by understanding what is driving the behavior and building practical skills around the individual dog in front of you.

Why Yamhill County Families Choose Us
We don’t use cookie-cutter training programs or harsh corrections. We focus on clear communication and real progress.
Training Tailored to Your Dog
No two dogs or households are exactly alike. Training plans are built around your specific dog’s personality, your household routines, your realistic goals, and your actual living environment.
Where Life Actually Happens
Group classes in sterile halls don’t teach dogs how to behave when a delivery driver rings your doorbell or when walking through your neighborhood. We train right where behaviors occur.
Practical Support for Everyday Life
We focus on skills that matter during walks, around visitors, during family dinners, and throughout normal daily routines—without expecting you or your dog to be robotically perfect.

Mandy comes to your home in Yamhill County. Together we build practical routines, clear communication, and calm habits.

Hi, I’m Mandy Boutelle
Multi-Certified Trainer & Behavior Consultant
I’ve spent well over a decade working with dogs. What started as noticing subtle animal behavior cues grew into years of hands-on work with dogs of all personalities — from social butterfly pups to sensitive dogs who need extra time gaining trust.
Today, dog training and behavior support are at the core of my work: helping Yamhill County guardians not just build calmer, more manageable routines with their dogs, but helping them truly understand the why behind their dog's behavior.
What Yamhill County Dog Guardians Say
Real experiences from clients who wanted calmer, more joyful lives with their dogs.
"We worked with Mandy when our Vizsla was just 8 weeks old, and the experience was incredible. Not only did our puppy benefit enormously from loose leash walking, recall, and 'go to bed,' but I genuinely came out of the process a better dog parent. When he went through a brief reactive phase with other dogs, Mandy provided so much thoughtful coaching that really helped us work through it with confidence."
Maddie Heaphy
8-week-old Vizsla
"Mandy’s training style helped US learn how to contain our dog’s emotions. Mandy was patient, clear, and super supportive. Our dog made real progress, and we learned practical techniques we can use every day. Mandy was friendly, professional, and truly effective. Highly recommend!"
Chrissy Bynum
Family Dog
"She taught our dog recall, so we can enjoy time together exploring off-leash on hikes and at the beach. She helped us troubleshoot behavioral challenges with easy suggestions that helped us work with our dog more effectively. I loved her positive training approach that felt like teaching all of us how to communicate better."

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about starting in-home training.
Where does training take place?
Training takes place in and around your home throughout Yamhill County (McMinnville, Newberg, Dundee, Carlton, Lafayette, Amity, etc.). Practicing in your dog's real-life environment creates faster, more durable progress.
What training methods do you use?
Pacific North Woof uses compassionate, reward-based methods grounded in modern animal behavior science. We do NOT use shock/e-collars, prong collars, slip leads, fear, intimidation, or physical corrections. We teach dogs what to do instead.
Do you work with puppies and adolescents?
Yes! Puppy and adolescent support is one of our primary specialties. From puppy biting, crate routines, and potty training to teenage impulsivity and big emotions, we help you navigate each stage.
How many sessions will my dog need?
Because every dog and family goal is unique, we create a tailored recommendation during our initial call. Most clients see meaningful, practical shifts within the first couple of sessions.
Do you work with reactive or fearful dogs?
Yes. Mandy is a Certified Trainer and Behavior Consultant (CCT, CTBC, FFCP). We help dogs with leash reactivity, barking, fearfulness, and overarousal through thoughtful desensitization and management.
